Hi there! I'm Zena
I am a deeply passionate about helping people connect with themselves - with their bodies, their emotions, down to the core of their being, which some may call their soul or spirit.
Connection is what I live for, and I believe it all starts with ourselves.
I have been a Lomi Lomi practitioner for over 7 years, and this modality is my absolute favourite way of doing just that.
If you are curious about Lomi, read on.

A little bit about me...
We often become interested in healing and self development in the face of adversity, and my story is no different. In my early/mid twenties, despite having a beautiful life that looked pretty much perfect from the outside, I used to suffer from tremendous anxiety. I experienced several severe panic attacks, one of which landed me in hospital, absolutely convinced I was dying. After that particular one, I knew that something had to change, and I became very interested in finding out how to cultivate a state of grounded inner peace and emotional fulfilment. My journey started with yoga, and then quickly led me to meditation, breath work, tantra, taoism, various forms of dance therapy, women's circles... and then finally - massage.
When I took my first Lomi Lomi massage course I had already been teaching yoga for a number of years, was meditating regularly and taking care of myself, but a very important piece of the puzzle was missing - a sense of self acceptance, self esteem, and self love. The safety and love that I felt when receiving Lomi everyday during that first training allowed me to really discover the meaning and importance and self love, for the first time from an embodied perspective. Lomi has been so deeply healing for me, and has allowed me to experience more love, more clarity, and more joy than ever before, which is has rippled through to every aspect of my life.

So what is Lomi Lomi...?
Lomi Lomi is the traditional form of Hawaiian bodywork originally practiced by Kahunas (shamans). The massage goes much deeper than physical relaxation - it aims to transform and rebalance, creating harmony and flow within a person's whole being. A Lomi session has the potential to be totally life changing, as it was for me.
Lomi Lomi is a powerful massage experience, using lots of warm oil and long, flowing strokes up and down the body. The flowing movements allow the mind to truly switch off, so that the receiver may experience their own body (physical, emotional and spiritual) on a much deeper level. One of the best things about Lomi is that we don't only work over the body, but also under the body, which feels incredible as the weight of the body creates the most perfect amount of pressure, inducing a deep state of blissful surrender.
But what truly sets Lomi apart is one simple ingredient - love. The skill of the practitioner lies in their ability to tune into the vibration of love - not a personal love, but a universal love, so that the receiver may feel fully accepted, held, and safe to be themselves exactly as they are in that moment, with whatever challenges they are going through. When we feel safe, our body's natural wisdom can take over, allowing us to heal anything that is in the way of our natural joyful state.
Every Lomi session is different, some are deeply relaxing, and others more therapeutic. It is not uncommon to cry, laugh, make noises, and experience very deep healing during a Lomi session. Some people may fall asleep, whilst others may have full body pleasure. All expressions are healthy and welcome. Feel free to visit my FAQs page for more info.

"I received a Lomi lomi massage from Zena yesterday and I found the experience immersive and fulfilling. The session started slowly with a check in where I felt really seen and understood and where the intention for the massage became clear and precise. I loved that she took the time here to make sure my intention was resonant and appropriate. Throughout the massage I noticed many different experiences of sensations from the physical to energetic and emotional. I felt deeply moved my the massage and highly recommend Zena. Her approach is unique caring and precise. Today I woke feeling completely at ease, I slept deeply and grateful for the massage."
